Devlog 0 - Getting Started

After taking a break since the end of the Pirate Software GameJam i decided to keep this game going and try to correct some of the more "fatal" flaws in my submission. To have a general direction of what i'll be getting to do i choose to start this Devlog series by listing the fixes that will be done and how i plan on doing them,

Let's get started then.

Fixes and Features:

1 - Performance: One of the major flaws pointed out in the feedback from the GameJam was how badly the game performed on the browser player, even though the person I had test the game for me did not have that same issue, the game did feel quite heavy at times even in the Unity Editor. I don't know yet if I'll keep the browser version of the game updated or if it will be dropped completly but the performance issue is gonna have to be fixed one way or another.

2 - Sounds: Having no sounds in a game really makes the experience incredibly boring. This one wasn't a error, I simply had no time left to implement sounds into the game for the jam.

3 - Art: This is a really generic point because there are a lot of different things related in the game that have to be done, like the characters models, Texturing, Weapons, Animations, etc... I'll probably take these one at a time but since they revolve around the same thing I grouped them in this item for the devlog.

4 - Game Mechanics: I think this will be the first thing I'll look into, there are some things I wish to change and adjust for the game like the camera angle, room changing and map mechanics, rewards and effects, and last but not least the Game Loop.

All things considered there is a lot to be done, some things simpler than others but nothing too bad. Considering my skills and what I still have to learn, I'll probably leave the art and sounds part toward the later parts of development and focus on what I already know how to do. That said I'm giving myself 2 weeks for the next update that will most likely be focused on the Game Mechanics and small changes to make the game smoother around the edges.
